The course is situated 4 miles northwest of the city of Hereford, nestled in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The walking is easy, with gentle rolling fairways around two lakes, playing through mature cider orchards. There is always a background of hills, woods, and wildlife with the Welsh mountains in the distance.

At 6224 yards par 71, most of the holes require considerable thought, and with a policy of continual improvement, it is seen as a fair but enjoyable test for players of all abilities.
