Hereford Cathedral

Hereford Cathedral is built on a place of worship used since Saxon times. It contains some of the finest examples of art and architecture from Norman times to the present day, including the famous Mappa Mundi, the medieval Chained Library and the Hereford Magna Carta.

Hereford’s elegantly restored Cathedral Close sits at the heart of our historic city and diocese, with new social spaces, artworks, and interpretation for you to enjoy.

The cathedral is open daily to visitors from 9.15 am until Evensong, which you are warmly invited to attend.

Hereford Cathedral Christmas Oratorio

Hereford Cathedral Choir, together with Marches Baroque and an international lineup of soloists, will be performing J S Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in its entirety (sung in German).

After the first sell out show in Hereford Cathedral has confirmed that the Silent Disco will be returning.

Expect some of the UK’s best 80s DJs playing all your favourite tunes in the stunning, illuminated surroundings of the historic Cathedral.

Organ Concerts

Regular Saturdays throughout the year

Afternoon music is a short concert of beautiful music, played on the Father Willis organ at Hereford Cathedral. The concert is free, with a retiring collection. Afternoon Music takes place from 3.15 to 3.40 pm on regular saturdays throughout the year.
